CULINARY WORKSHOP DETAILS

The duo led by Chef Olivier Berté and culinary journalist Nadine Rodd is an experience that goes far beyond a simple cooking demonstration.

The complementarity of roles

In this format, participants benefit from two different yet inseparable perspectives of the culinary world:

• The Chef (The Know-How): He focuses on the technical gesture, the mastery of cooking, seasoning, and plating. He passes on professional skills and chef's «tricks» in a warm atmosphere.

• The Journalist (Le Savoir-Dire): She talks about where the ingredients come from, the history of the recipes, current trends, and interesting stories, and asks the chef the right questions.

The typical procedure

The workshop is more interactive and dynamic than a traditional class:

• The «Editorial» Introduction: The female journalist presents the topic (e.g., «The Return of Forgotten Vegetables» or «Traditional and Modern French Cuisine»)

• The Two-Voice Demonstration: While the chef works, the journalist hosts the session. She explains why a certain producer is exceptional or how to choose the best ingredient at the market.

• Supervised Practice (available upon request): Participants cook under the technical eye of the chef, while chatting with the journalist about the cultural or nutritional aspect of the dish.

• The «Critique» Tasting: At the end, the journalist can lead a sensory analysis (learning to put words to what one tastes), turning the tasting into a true gourmet editorial meeting.
